The South Bend-Notre Dame Sports Medicine Fellowship offers the following competitive benefits package:
Each fellow will be paid a stipend commensurate with a PGY-4 salary that is competitive to the regional market.
Attendance at the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) annual conference is required. Other CME opportunities include the AMSSM Fellows conference & the South Bend-Notre Dame Winter Symposium conference.
A maximum of $4000 is available to help defray costs for CME for select conferences and must be approved by the Sports Medicine Fellowship Directors.
The hospitals will provide and secure health insurance for their respective fellow in compliance with their corporate structure.
Each sponsoring hospital will provide their respective fellow with malpractice insurance.
Note - There will be some subtle differences in contract, insurance coverage, etc. due to variances in sponsoring institutions.
The fellow will receive two weeks (10 working days) of paid vacation during fellowship.
The hospitals recognize eight (8) holidays annually:
- New Year's Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Two (2) float days per year
Fellows accrue sick leave at the rate of one (1) day per month beginning the first day of matriculation. Sick leave may be used for personal illness, injury, pregnancy, paternity, family death, etc.
During the academic year interviews may come up that require the fellow to take time away. All interviews must be approved by Sports Medicine Fellowship directors.
Meals are available to the fellow at no cost while on duty.
Two white lab coats are provided with name in embroidered will be provided. In addition branded institution clothing is also provided.
